We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which is why we're taking part in Breakfast Week this January to help you 'Shake Up Your Wake Up'. Whether you're the sort to grab-and-go or prefer a more leisurely start to the day, visit Botley Hill Farmhouse between Sunday 24th January and Saturday 30th January and let us make breakfast for you.
According to the organisers of Breakfast Week, the nation's favourite breakfast is a classic full English, so we'll be offering a free tea, coffee or orange juice with every order of our full English breakfast on Sunday 24th January. Since more than a third of us choose wholegrain cereals to start our weekday mornings, we'll also have granola and yoghurt on the menu at the Sheep Shed from 10am between Tuesday 26th January and Saturday 30th January, as well as our regular sausage and bacon baps.
The old proverb says one should 'breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper' – the idea being that we should eat our biggest and most nutritious meal at the beginning of the day. Most of us follow a more balanced approach, but around a quarter of us skip breakfast altogether at least once a week, so make Breakfast Week a time to focus on ensuring you have a healthy start to the day. Breakfast is a great time to get a couple of portions of your 5-a-day, too – a glass of fruit juice or a side of baked beans both count towards your target, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.
If you'd like to join us for our Shake Up Your Wake Up breakfast on Sunday 24th January, you can request a table now. Or see here for opening hours for the Sheep Shed, where you'll be able to enjoy breakfast or brunch during the week.
